Safe to Spend
The one number to live by
Your balance is not what you can spend. The rent cheque has not cleared yet, a Tabby instalment lands on Friday, and DEWA is due. Safe to Spend takes what is already committed off your balance and tells you what is actually yours until salary day.
How it is worked out
Safe to Spend is what is in your accounts, minus what is already committed before your next salary (rent cheques, school fees, buy-now-pay-later instalments and bills), minus a buffer you choose.
An example in AED (illustrative numbers)
- Balance today: AED 9,400
- Rent cheque clearing in 6 days: −3,500
- Tabby instalment on Friday: −450
- DEWA bill due this week: −380
- Your buffer: −500
- Safe to Spend until payday: AED 4,570. With 12 days to payday, that is about AED 380 a day.
Why your balance misleads you
A balance shows today. UAE money moves in lumps: a cheque, a term fee, an instalment. Two people with the same balance can have very different weeks ahead.
In Spendfeed
It recalculates after every capture, knows your salary day and your buffer, and answers questions like “can I afford AED 1,200 on Friday?” with a yes, or the date it becomes one.

Questions about Safe to Spend
What is the buffer?
A cushion you choose, so that Safe to Spend never counts the last of your money.
How is it different from my balance?
Your balance is what is in the account now. Safe to Spend is what is left for you after your commitments, until the next salary.
