Expense tracker for the UAE
An expense tracker that logs itself
Spreadsheets and manual apps fail for the same reason: you stop entering things. Spendfeed reads the alerts your banks already send and turns them into categorised expenses in AED, so tracking happens whether or not you remember.
How automatic expense tracking works
- A bank, wallet or pay-later provider sends an alert when you pay.
- Spendfeed reads that alert on your phone: through notification access on Android, or the Messages and Apple Pay automations you set up once on iPhone.
- The amount, merchant, date and card are extracted. OTPs, full card numbers and IBANs are stripped first, and anything that is not a transaction is dropped.
- The expense is categorised and added to your feed, without duplicates when two sources report the same payment.
What most UAE households keep an eye on
- Rent cheques and the dates they clear
- DEWA, SEWA, internet and phone bills
- School fees and other term payments
- Groceries, dining and delivery
- Salik, taxis, fuel and parking
- Buy-now-pay-later instalments from Tabby and Tamara
- Remittances and shared costs with flatmates
Cash and shared costs
Not everything sends an alert. Type one line for cash and Spendfeed files it: “karak 3 at the cafeteria”, “dinner 480 split with sara and omar”, or the same in Arabic.
Shared costs go into groups for trips, flats and couples, and friends settle through a link they open in the browser. Splits and groups are free forever.
Private by design
Alerts are understood on your phone. Only the structured transaction (amount, merchant, date) syncs, never the alert text. Spendfeed does not use SMS permission, shows no ads and does not sell data. You can export everything or delete your account from Settings.
Stop typing your spending
Set Spendfeed up once and let your bank alerts do the work.
Questions about expense tracking
Can I just use a spreadsheet?
You can, and many people start there. The catch is entry: a tracker is only as good as its last update. Capturing from alerts removes the step people drop.
How complete is automatic tracking?
As complete as the alerts your banks send. A payment with no alert, such as cash, can be typed in one line, and open banking, where your bank is connected, reconciles the rest.
Does it work on Android and iPhone?
Yes. Android captures your banks’ notifications; iPhone uses Apple Pay and Messages automations, screenshots and open banking. The install button on this page shows what is available today.
Is Spendfeed free?
Spendfeed is free to start, and splits and groups are free forever. Spendfeed Pro is an optional subscription; prices are shown in the app before you buy.
